Versitile dress - ran small for me

This dress is cute, comfortable, and a great color. It dresses up or down, and just really feels like decent-quality fabric and construction. My only issue was that I measured and appeared to be an L, but when that arrived it was way too small in the bodice (I have a 34" waist and small bust, but I could barely close the buttons!). I ended up exchanging for a 1X mainly because I wanted a slightly oversized fit and was worried an XL wouldn't get me there. The 1X arrived and I was worried it looked TOO big, so I washed it on hot and dried it, and it shrank just a little bit. I feel like it's perfect now.
